Sodapop
8 month old American Staffordshire Terrier puppy. Up to date on vaccines neutered, microchipped, house and crate trained.
Sodapop is a sweetheart full of puppy energy. He loves to play, and chase, and run, and chew. He's learning his manners, and that dogs toys are for chewing, flipflops are not. (I haven't lost a pair of shoes to puppy jaws in 2 whole months.)
Soda would do best with older children, as he's got a lot of puppy exuberance, and might accidentally knock toddlers over in his excitement.
Sodapop loves other dogs, and he loves to play. He has an amazing knack with small puppies, and is incredibly playful and gentle with them. He adores every dog he's ever been introduced to, unfortunately, they don't all feel the same about him. We suspect Sodapop was taken away from his mom too early, and because of that, his social skills have suffered. He's not aggressive, or particularly dominant, he just seems to be incredibly irritating to some dogs. He wants so desperately to be friends, he just keeps at them. As long as you're willing to send him away, or crate him, when his affection gets to be too much for some dogs, he does great.
He's fostered with a surrogate mama dog right now, and she's been very good about teaching him his manners, so he's improving daily, and is less overwhelming for other dogs. Hopefully, with gentle correction, he'll grow out of his, "BUT I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!" faze as he gets older.
